Vicki Gorman's Taking Control

Taking over the reins of someone else’s shop can sometimes be a bumpy road; none of the shop’s equipment has been chosen by you and the design may not be to your taste.  Luckily for Vicki Gorman, this is not the case when she took over her cousin’s shop in Ashington, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

The takeaway had just had a stylish refurbishment after being left derelict and Dougie, Vicki’s cousin, had given the shop a clean and bright finish so there was no concern with the look of the shop.  But after working in the fish and chip industry for years, how did Vicki find frying on a different style of range?

‘I’m really happy with the range’ Vicki said, ‘it’s really easy to use and copes with the queues we often get in the shop even though we cook to order.  I’ve always been used to throwing buckets of chips in but using baskets is much easier; it works like a conveyor belt.  If I got the chance to open another shop, I’d choose a Florigo!’
