Petrou Brothers - Master Fryers get a Florigo & Brian Turner!

Mark & Pete Petrou were born to be master fryers. Their father opened his first shop before the boys were walking and they have been raised on Fish & Chips!! The boys learnt well from their father and to develop their skills further Pete trained to become a qualified chef & Mark studied Marketing. Together they became a formidable team and twenty five years ago Petrou Brothers was created!

The brothers learnt their trade on a traditional range with manual controls and square pans. Fourteen years ago they bought their first Florigo with square and round pans after learning about the innovative dutch methods of frying and impressive build quality. This year they have invested in the latest High Efficiency Florigo range with Flotronic computer controls, 'I chose a Florigo yet again', Pete says 'because I was impressed with the lifespan & reliability of our first Florigo range and we were pleased to see there had been absolutely no compromise to the Florigo build quality for the sake of price & also the advances in technology that Florigo had made'. "it was obvious to me that they understand a fryers needs and still develop real innovations rather than gimmics"

Over1 million portions of Fish & Chips later and the Petrou Brothers have re-defined the future of Fish & chips ......Mark & Pete had a vision, and with the help of John Reagan from Design Mach Limited & Florigo, they have realised their dream - the shop mixes perfectly traditional finishes in a modern environment- and by using state of the art technology the brothers are showing their customers whilst they wait what a healthy and environmentally friendly product they supply.

Brian Turner, celebrity Chef and TV personality was there for the grand opening in June 2006 with other local dignitaries ' I was very impressed' says Brian, 'It's a great shop and I had no idea real fish & chips had reached this wonderful part of Cambridgeshire'.

Since the shop has re opened the new range more than copes with the extra 30% increase in trade, shorter queues and smaller gas bills are apparent too! And as a bonus the brothers have also noticed that even with the increase in sales they are using less frying medium because of the performance of the pan temperatures.

Customers have also been quick to comment on the difference and Mark is keen to show them how good his product is, ' With their on the go lifestyles', Mark says ' customers want a convenient meal that allows them to get on with their busy lives without compromising on their decision to adopt a healthy eating regime. Fish & Chips deserves its place in their diet - it's a very healthy choice and cooked well is the best fast food option - we're telling all our customers about the low fat contents of high efficiency frying. Traditional fish & chips cooked the modern way - on a Florigo!!'
