Family Knows best at Clifton Fish Bar

The Clifton Fish Bar at Bristol has been in the Maestri family for 30 years, happily feeding this busy local area with fish and chips.  The famous suspension bridge located nearby attracts a steady stream of tourists who love nothing better than to experience the well known British cuisine: in fact some even take the box back home with them as souvenirs!

With tourists, locals and students beating a path to their door, owner, Marco Maestri, decided the fish bar needed a refurbishment but when it came to buying a frying range, which one would be the best choice?  Marco knew this was a big decision and spent two years doing his homework; comparing different ranges and talking with fellow shop owners.  He knew of someone locally who had a particular range but the servicing was not of a high standard so Marco knew he had to make the right choice and throughout his detailed research one brand kept on coming out on top: Florigo.

‘The whole set up with Florigo is in a different league and I felt very comfortable with the choice I made.  As in life, you definitely get what you pay for’.  The Managing Director of Frying Solutions UK, Robert Furey, took the time out to take Marco around to local shops that had a Florigo fitted to show what the range could really do and was on hand were there any queries or questions Marco had.

The refurbishment was made further complicated as the establishment is in a Grade II listed building but the Florigo engineers really impressed Marco at how organised they were even with the prospect of bringing the range in through a 4m2 window and executed it brilliantly.

Now the range has been fitted and up and running since January, Marco has seen a definite improvement in the business by about 20-30% and even when the eatery is very busy, the Florigo delivers.  He feels that the extra touches included on range also contribute to a smoother running business: the stand-by button on the pan, rubber included on the glass to stop it from smacking and filtration on the corner.

For this shop the Florigo has been an out and out winner but Marco is in the process of opening another restaurant and decided to go for a cheaper alternative: ‘The difference in ranges is like chalk and cheese’ he admits ‘I wish I had pushed myself that bit more and gone for a Florigo!’
